What is OT?

Occupational therapy, essentially helps support people to engage in everyday activities they find meaningful and the things they do to fulfil their life roles to be who they are.

The term “occupation” can be understood in 4 categories.

  • Leisure - enjoyment, relaxation and play

  • Self-care- dressing, grooming, toileting, showering, eating and other personal hygiene tasks

  • Productivity - schoolwork volunteering and employment

  • Rest - sleep, to support healthy and active engagement if life

Whether it be kids, teenagers or adults, occupational therapists (OT) can support and enable them to do the activities they need to and want to do.
